The Ultimate Queen Celebration
When talking about pants, usually its always referred to as plural like "My pants were cut." But, if you are referring to the specific leg of the pants, it can be said like "My pant leg was cut." (but the "leg" has to be added – its doesn't just become "My pant was cut.") 🙂 "Glasses" are always referred to as plural "I have to buy a new pair of glasses" (even if talking about just one side of them.) If we are talking about a specific side of the glasses – we would just call it the "lens." For example "I need a new lens in my glasses." 🙂
As an english speaker, I'm lucky that we just learn all these weird english grammatical rules as we grow up – so its easy to know how to use them without needing to think about them haha. But it does make learning english as a second language a little difficult. ^_^;
This is cute.. yes we ALWAYS say plural nouns like pants, scissors, glasses, etc. I think as a native we just don’t think about it most of the time. By the way, your command of English is sooo good! And your accent is so native like!
This is very cute, but when I think about it, it's exactly the same in Spanish. I was born in Mexico so spanish is my first language but I came to America when i was 3, so my parents put me straight into all English classes but when you really think about it, it's very weird
