The term roots can mean several different things, it can go back to the topic of reincarnation and getting connected with the root of your soul. Or it can also mean entering this prophetic or excstatic state and reconnecting to the root, which is the source of everything and getting metaphysical inspiration. It’s really important to find out about your own roots If you have your grandmothers alive still it’s important to speak to them some time and find out your hystory your tradition, your lineage. And each tribal group or ethnic group has so many wonderful things about them. It’s our duty to keep those things intact and not just lose them forever. If you are a tree and you just rise up, the first wind comes and you will fall. so you need to send really deep roots, and only then you can really really fly high. Tree of Life.. Manifesting in all of it’s different forms. It’s a great wonder, great majesty, great mystery. When you feel like you want to listen to someone, to someone else’s experience, you go to Chambok, when you feel like creating something with your own hands, you go to Artibarn. You go to Mirador to watch the art. It’s very different and you can experience the whole culture, not only from the perspective of dancing, but all other rituals as well. It’s music, dancing, arts, crafts and also lectures, because we’re investing not only in the experience of the participants, we’re investing in a better world, by creating these hotbed of ideas and allowing these ideas to ripple out into the interactions we’re having with people here. You’d find people from all walks of life, they are not just artists and philosophers, but there are also airline pilots and bankers. People, lots of people from many diverse cultures and backgrounds, in a container that allows people to be free of those conditionings that our society puts on us… And these are very safe environments for passage, for making that transition. They’re packed full of potential and possibility. Everyone that’s exposed to some transformational and sightful experience here takes that out into the greater collective and it just keeps reverberating through their lives and the people they meet. I felt that the energy produced by these kind of festivals counteracts a lot of the bad things happening in this world. And it’s one of the most powerful things that’s happened on this planet. Psytrance came out of a tribadelic trasnpersonal experience with others to share a new sense of tribalism. Making a dancemusic that was like a soundtrack for people to have a shamanic journey from dark into light. So under the beat we become one. When you go into an alernative world, particularly a festival for seven days, it takes one out of the paradigms of the industrial militaristic, consumer culture that we’re all born into… So this is a gateway for one to explore oneself and share that journey with others, who are up for understanding their more authentic way of being in the world. People who know nothing about this and they watch this their first judgement could be: these are idiots. I usually say to them: – Hey, pay attention! Pay attention to your judgement! Because there, inside the Main floor these people indeed discovered something that is something big, something wonderful.. that you don’t understand. But please stop your judgement! Before, try to study, to know about what’s this.. the collactive trance. Music is kind of taking us into the higher dimensional realm, but the dance itself is keeping us connected with the earth, the pulse of the earth. It becomes this opportunity, to extend and dissolve boundaries and to explore who you are. In the most simple way that is through movement. A kind of therapy that connects your body, mind and soul. It has an effect on the nervous system to release stress and trauma. When you’re dancing, you are reconnecting with yourself you’re reconnecting with people around you. The sensation of tribe is something very rooted within us… …to really dance your heart out. One of the most important things I learned when I first started going to festivals was: Don’t leave it behind. Bring it back with you. Let it inspire how you show up to rest of your world, because there’s something beautiful that we’re creating and if we and many of us are leaving the womb of the festival, a new person having discovered new aspects of ourselves that are deeply meaningful, or having felt for the first time in our lives truly free and autonomous of who we are. I think that has a really positive effect on how we show up to other people and the rest of our lives broadscale.
