Hi everyone! My name is Delaney Madden, I
am a senior here at K-State and I am majoring in Human Development and Family
Science, and I am the feature twirler for the K-State marching band. Twirling at
K-State has truly been a dream come true. The feeling of taking the field on
game day is surreal and being able to perform with 400 members of the K-State
marching band in a stadium with 50,000 plus fans it’s just, I get chills
thinking about it and I just love the feeling of being able to perform
with the K-State marching band. Today, I have rehearsal at 3:30, which I am getting
ready to leave for, and then after rehearsal we have pub crawls and
so we’ll get to go perform at different businesses around town and that’s really
fun. Then I’ll be able to come home tonight and get ready for tomorrow. Hey! Happy game day eve. This is Katie, she’s
the other twirler. So we are at Memorial Stadium. We’re here for rehearsal, yeah we have rehearsal and it goes until about 5:20. It’s now like 9:50 and I will touch base with you tomorrow
morning when I get up. Good morning! It’s game day! I just woke up like five minutes ago and
I’m getting ready to do my hair and makeup and make coffee and just get woken up. I just got ready, just got my makeup done. I’m getting ready to go pick up Katie
and get ready to start the day. Happy game day! Here’s the tunnel. So, on Game Day we march through the tunnel and it’s
like the coolest thing ever because the drums and everybody, we’re all chanting
and it’s so loud and gets us so pumped for pregame. It’s the best thing ever. Happy game day dear twirlers,
happy game day to you! Here we are, it’s 5:35 in the morning for game day
with two lovely ladies, getting ready to twirl and
march up a storm. Another good day for the Wildcats, Go ‘Cats! We just finished pregame and now we’ve changed,
we’re into our halftime outfits and we’re about to go watch the game
and cheer on the team. So yeah, we’ll touch base maybe after halftime
or maybe at the end of the game because it’s gonna get crazy now.
We’ll see you soon! Go ‘Cats! ‘Cats win! We won 52-0. We shut them out.
It was a great day. We had a really good halftime for both of us.
It was really fun music from the band, and we had a lot of fun twirling to it. Yeah, it was really good. It was really hot. Just another great day with the Pride of
Wildcat land. Every game day is special in its own way and I’m just so thankful
I’m able to have these opportunities and be able to get to know members in the
band and have the experiences we do on the field. There’s just, there’s no way to
describe the feeling of performing in Bill Snyder Family Stadium. It is
something truly special and I’m so thankful for it. Goodbye!
