When you ambition to develop your company It’s better to do it with support from a few external financial partners. and Proparco is exactly the type of financial partner we were looking for. It’s a DFI that is not focused on short-term returns and that wishes to support companies whose business is serving sustainable development. We are very happy to have Proparco among our stakeholders because it will help us develop our African and European networks which are very important if we want to develop our activities. With Proparco we have accomplished a number of projects, including two 50MW solar power plants in Senegal. Proparco is also a stakeholder in the Meridiam fund for Africa. We have been working together for a few years now. Proparco and the AFD Group have been historical and strategic partners of the Group since they have invested with us in the creation of Advans in 2005. It was no more than a business plan then. Proparco and the AFD Group played their part when they decided to invest in this crazy idea to create an international microfinance group and then continued supporting the group in its development. We are very happy to count Proparco among our stakeholders because it will surely help us in our international development strategy focused on Africa. Proparco invested in our company about a year and a half ago and since they came in, there was a catalysing effect We were a small company with a small amount of traction Proparco’s vision and understanding of what we want to do and solve was crucial in helping scale the business to a point now where we have international presence and were about to start raising serious amounts of debt to continue scaling our impact across the globe. Proparco of course has had a huge development impact in Sub-Saharan Africa and we see that, and we want to leveredge off of the knowledge and experience that they have had in those markets.
