Happy New Years, Bananas! It’s finally
2012 – a brand new year! I had so much fun last night with my family celebrating
New Year’s Eve. We counted down to midnight and blew noisemakers and wore
party hats. It was such a blast. Now I need to make my New Year’s resolution. Do you know what a New Year’s resolution is? Well I’ll tell you. It’s when you set a
new goal for the year. This year my New Year’s resolution is to read 12 new
books. That’s one each month. It’s going to be a
lot of work but I know I can do it. I’ve already got a list and I can’t wait to
get started reading. Hey, I wrote a New Year’s poem. I want to share it with you.
Here it goes. “Christmas time was over and that made me kind of sad, but New Year’s
Day was coming and I knew I would be glad. 2011 was a great year and I made so many new friends, and I can’t wait to see what happens when 2012 begins. This year I’m going to try harder than I ever have before. I’m going to try and learn more
and more and more! My family all sat together and we all watched the clock. It made a sound that went like this – Tick Tock Tick Tock – Finally it was close so we
put on our party hats. My mom and my dad and my sisters and my cats. Ten, nine,
eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one! Happy New Years! It was finally here.
Happy 2012 everybody, it’s gonna be a great year!” Well I hope you liked my poem, and I hope you and your family have the best New Year’s ever! See ya!
