Hello Jenna Ujiye here and I am at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival in Goderich Ontario, on Ontario’s West Coast. It happens just over in Harbour park every year. We’re just here today to cheek out and see whats going on they have hundreds of acts, thousands of people come from all over the place to cheek out this amazing event. So, I’m really excited about today and to cheek out all the celtic music. Jenna- Well i am back and I am with Warren and Eleanor Robinson, they are the brains behind the Celtic Roots Festival, and I thought I track them down before it got really busy ’cause then I know I wouldn’t find them at all, and ask them a few questions. Warren could you tell me how this idea of the Celtic Roots Festival came into your mind? Warren- Well it started out as a concert, we had a friend Who died, and we were trying to raise money for a scholarship in his honour. And so many people said they wish they could hear of this kind of music, so we looked at each other and said, “what do you think” and we though, lets go for it. and so we held our first on in 1993 expecting to see four or five hundred people and three and a half thousand showed up so it kinda kick started pretty fast. Jenna- So it started big and it just keeps getting bigger. Eleanor- Its been a happy 19 years and next year is number 20, big festival. Jenna- Are you doing anything in particular for your 20th Warren? Warren- Well we’re having some of our all time favourites back from over seas. People know artist like Hilary and Simon Mayor, Brian McNeil we hope to have Dervish back, and some of the bigger acts.
