We always heard about how to cook pasta traditionally in this video will be cooking in a Japanese way to cook pasta Napolitan all in One Pot It’s a pain to cook pasta separately so this time let’s forget this hassle it’s an all time family or party meal to everyone most importantly it’s very easy and convenient! again, this is not traditional let’s introduce some ingredients to you guys first i’ve got some spaghetti for 2 persons feel free to change the type of pasta depends on your preference (the minced garlic is not for this dish) 1/2 green pepper and 1/2 onion 3 sausages, 3-4 slices of bacon can you use any kind of sausages such as frankfurt sausages worcestershire sauce, tabasco, and ketchup and finally, tomato puré it helps to increase the flavour and redness if you haven’t got it, it’s fine. easy mate. peel the onion and cut it into thin slices we will sauté the onion in the pan later the give the rest of the ingredients a nice stir fry after cutting the onion let’s do the same to the green pepper make sure you remove the seeds inside the pepper cut it into thin slices then set them aside make sure the onion and green pepper slices aren’t too thick in pieces as we don’t want to cook them for too long we will take them out and return to the pot at the end set them aside for now then let’s move on to the next step (it’s very easy right?) we don’t need any precise cutting skills for the sausages and bacon cut the bacon slices into big square slices the sausages so the surface area is large enough don’t cut them vertically otherwise the texture won’t be as good as this some of you in HK might not have this you can still use those (chef sausages) but please don’t use those frozen “Red Sausages” they won’t match with the dish now all the ingredients are ready. Let’s get started. we want to add about 1 tbsp of oil into a frying pan heat it under medium when the oil temperature is hot enough add the onion and green pepper slices into the frying pan give them a nice stir fry and one thing that I’ve forgotten to mention feel free to add additional heat into the dish such as chili it’s always good to add 1 piece of chopped chili into this dish if you do, add it at the end but this version is for everyone so I’ve decided to skip that we don’t mind to have a non-spicy dish do we? for about 1-2 mins you may observe the onion starts to turn yellow before it turns into transparent add the rest of the ingredients into the pan you can also add a teaspoon of sugar to enhance the caramelization but to make things nice and easy. I didn’t add that as well. add the bacon and sausages into the pan give them a nice stir fry but I always prefer to add in some salt in order to release the flavour of the bacon now the onions are turning to be transparent it’s time now to transfer them into a dish as the bacon and sausages can be cooked easily so basically this part can be done in 5 mins then the pasta… well I think you can predict the rest can you imagine how simple the dish is ? OK. transfer all these to another plate for now if you want to cook them with the pasta later you will end up with soggy veggies which it seems to be a bad idea unless you like soggy and soft veggies… make sure you have some hot water ready always remember not to add cold water into a hot telfon pan or the coating will fall off which may cause you to death ? lol so yeah, hot water! turn the heat to med-high heat and bring it to a boil then add the pasta in you may want to break the pasta in half in order to fit the pan otherwise you will be pan frying or steaming pasta for about 500ml of water, you should be fine to bath the pasta nicely water level slightly higher than the pasta, you are good to go cook the pasta for about 6-7 mins until al-dentè you will end up with the pasta have absorbed most of the water the water has become a bit thick that’s what we want. and don’t add any salt just in case you want to add 3 tbsp of ketchup 1 tbsp of tomato puré followed by a few drops of worcestershire sauce then give them a nice mix then return everything back into the pan such as the veggies, sausages and bacon you are almost there, mix them up! now let me talk something about this pasta most of you assume pasta is originally from italy however, pasta napolitan is a Japanese dish therefore the base flavour should be only ketchup and with a touch of heat so if you want extra heat feel free to add a piece of chopped chili now heat is always good to enhance a better flavour to some people otherwise you can add a few drops of tabasco then the taste of this pasta napolitan should be very similar to those Japanese-western restaurant when everything is nicely mixed together you can now transfer them to a plate if you want a better presentation don’t forget to lay the pasta by twisting motion it can be very messy if you just move the pasta straight away… but if you don’t really care just move the pile of pasta from the pan straight away… lay the pasta with a tong by twisting motion isn’t too hard for you right? let go and don’t reverse the motion great. this is our pasta napolitan today! I know sometimes it’s really hard to you guys to follow those difficult dishes such as seafood platter, or home omakase and it’s hard to source ingredients too so I think making some simple japanese dish ocassionally isn’t a bad idea like some family friendly dishes pasta can be a popular dish at home too it’s the end of this pasta napolitan video I hope you enjoyed watching this all in a pot recipe please don’t forget to give it a thumb up, share and subsribe to my channel and also follow my instagram and facebook page and yeah, you can add some herbs too but I think cheese powder is a better match that’s it. see you next time. Bye.
